Sam & Ryan
When the bride and groom describe their celebrations as a “6-day wedding festival”, you can only imagine the kind of party that followed!
Sam and Ryan tied the knot amongst an intimate group of friends and family at The Villa Sanctuary in Canggu. Following a romantic sunset proposal on a cliff top in Bali (fellas – take note!), it made sense for this loved-up couple to return to their favourite destination to say their I-do’s, along with a tight-knit crew of their nearest and dearest.
Sam’s vision of a lush, tropical setting was brought to life with giant monstera leaves, bright fuchsia florals, clusters of pineapples and twinkling festoon lights. Bursts of colour tied the styling together, from the beautiful macrame arbour to the flower-topped cake.
The day began with an intimate garden ceremony framed by towering palm trees, as Sam walked down the aisle in her custom-made gown to an acoustic performance of ‘Heaven’ by Bryan Adams. Fast-forward a few hours and you’ll find guests partying poolside while snacking on ice-cream sandwiches. Talk about a night to remember!
Looking through the vibrant images via Terralogical, it’s abundantly clear that these wedding festivities were filled with love, laughter and unforgettable memories. We spoke to Sam and Ryan who shared their words of wisdom for other couples planning a wedding in Bali, along with the suppliers and details that helped bring their vision to life.
How we met: We met quite a few years ago through mutual friends and became partners 5 years ago.
The proposal: Ryan proposed in Bali at El Kabron during sunset. Was my favourite place in Bali (We went on our first overseas trip together to Bali and went to El Kabron). He organised a spot right at the front on the cliff edge with Champagne for a romantic experience. Took me completely by surprise!

Who we couldn’t have done it without:
Kira from Hitch’d.
She was amazing! There was no question she couldn’t answer for us and explored all the suggestions we made to see if they were possible and within budget. Kira was there every step of the way going above and beyond to make our day (week) perfect. Kira had a vision right from the beginning of how we pictured our wedding day looking and the relaxed party feel we were trying to achieve. As we loved the idea of having our wedding in Bali and us living in Melbourne, finding a venue was exhausting, Kira gave us an honest opinion of each one we found and even supplied us with untouched photos of venues so we could get an true indication I couldn’t recommend a better Wedding Planner.
Advice for our future Bali Brides: Hire a wedding planner, the knowledge they can provide is priceless. Don’t try to organize guests accommodation and travel plans adds too much stress on top of organising the actual wedding.
